Whitehill Road incident: Man, 31, in 'critical condition' after disturbance near Fort Kinnaird shopping centre as armed police shut down area

Police Scotland confirmed that a 31-year-old man is in a ‘critical condition’ following a disturbance at Whitehill Road, near Fort Kinnaird, on Thursday night.

Armed officers attended the incident after they were informed that a man, 31, was injured after a disturbance at around 5pm on Thursday.

The injured 31-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries following the incident.

Police commented that the man’s condition is critical but stable as he remains in hospital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a man being injured following a disturbance at Whitehill Road, Edinburgh, around 5pm on Thursday, 3 June.

“A 31-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Officers attended, supported by specialist resources, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
