Whitehill Road incident: Man injured after armed police near Edinburgh shopping centre

A man has been injured in a disturbance at Whitehill Road near the Fort Kinnaird shopping centre in Edinburgh.

It is understood that armed police and canine units were called to the scene, near the Martin & Frost outlet, shortly after 5pm.

The man’s condition is not yet known, but Police Scotland confirmed he was treated by paramedics.

A spokesperson for the force told the Scottish Sun: "We were made aware of a man injured following a disturbance shortly after 5pm on Thursday, 3 June.

"The man has been passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Officers are currently in attendance in the area and enquiries are ongoing."
