Witness appeal after boy, 4, struck by car in West Lothian village

Police are appealing for witnesses after a four-year-old boy was struck by a car in West Lothian.

The boy was hit by a red coloured Vauxhall Mokka vehicle that was travelling south on Langside Drive, Blackridge, at about 6.15pm on Saturday April 2.

The youngster was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh following where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

The 44-year-old female driver was not physically injured.

Constable Darren Gallagher, of the Road Policing Department in West Lothian, is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact him via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 3433.
