Woman charged with murder of Colin Skilbeck

A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man.

Colin Skilbeck, 41, died at Gibson Terrace, Fountainbridge, on Sunday, March 12.

Kathleen Downey, 34, made a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Thomas Welsh QC on Thursday.

No plea was made and the case was continued for further inquiry. Downey was remanded in custody.

Following Mr Skilbeck’s death, his family said: “We are utterly devastated at Colin’s death and are still trying to come to terms with the fact that he is no longer with us.

“All of us loved Colin dearly.”
