Dalry Road fire: Man taken to hospital after blaze in commercial property in Edinburgh near Haymarket

Fire crews rushed to a commercial property on Dalry Road in Edinburgh, near Haymarket Station, after being alerted to the blaze shortly after 11am on Wednesday. The building is believed to be a takeaway and restaurant.
Paramedics also attended the incident, and two people who were in the building were placed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. One man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Hide AdPart of Dalry Road was closed to traffic and buses were diverted away from the area, but the road has now fully re-opened. Firefighters remain on the scene, as they are still making the area safe.


A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.07am on Wednesday, 2 November to reports of a fire within a commercial property on Dalry Road, Edinburgh. Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and height vehicle to the scene.
"Two casualties have been placed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews remain in attendance as they work to make the area safe.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1209 hours today to attend an incident on Dalry Road in Edinburgh. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one male patient to New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
