Dancers move in on shoppers

Scottish country dancers braved the showers to help shoppers brush up their reels and jigs as part of the Big Dance celebrations in Edinburgh.

Dancers from the Edinburgh Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) expertly performed dances with a local theme – the Gates of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh – to the music of bandleader, Iain MacPhail, last weekend.

They also put the public through their paces as they attempted a mass Gay Gordons on the Grassmarket as well as a Circassian Circle in St Andrew Square.
