Dead body found near Lothian Road
Police have closed off a city centre churchyard after the body of a man was found earlier this afternoon.
Officers were called to St Cuthbert’s churchyard near the bottom of Lothian Road just before 1pm today.
A police spokeswoman said the death is currently being treated as unexplained but enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
She said: “Police in Edinburgh were called to St Cuthbert’s churchyard, Lothian Road just before 1pm today, after the body of a man was found.
“His death is currently being treated as unexplained but police are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.”
