Deadline for young writers

The last chance is fast approaching for young writers to enter a contest which could see them work with a professional author.

The Scottish Book Trust is looking for three enthusiastic writers aged 14 to 17.

Applications to the Young Writers Awards must be made by Wednesday, August 31.

Entrants could have the chance to be mentored by author and playwright Cathy Forde over a period of six months, meet industry professionals and visit a top London publisher.

The Scottish Book Trust will cover transport costs to and from each mentoring session, and transport and accommodation for the London trip for each mentee and an accompanying adult.
