Developer puts 85-room care home on the market

An Edinburgh developer is to sell a care home it has built in the Capital.

AMA is developing an 85-bedroom furnished care home at its Powderhall site.

The developers have used outdoor space to create an elevated garden terrace overlooking landscaped gardens, and a roof terrace on the third floor offering a view over Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat.

Offers are being sought for the sale of the turn-key facility – although interest from operators that want to set up a lease arrangement may also be considered.

Martin Daw, associate director at Christie & Co, which is marketing the property, said: “The care home will sit in one of the most attractive areas of Edinburgh, has no immediate competition and any incoming operator has the potential to achieve high weekly care fees.

“This makes the Powder-hall development an extremely attractive proposition.”
