Double the fun at park

A JOINT celebration is to be held in Colinton next month.

The annual village fete, Art in the Park, will be taking place in Spylaw Park on September 4, at the same time as the park’s centenary celebrations are marked by a commemorative plaque.

Art in the Park is organised by the Colinton Village Events group. It started as a small art exhibition in 2005 and has since grown to be the only annual Colinton Village community event, combining our local arts and crafts with a village fair.

Colinton/Fairmilehead Councillor Jason Rust, who will be unveiling the park’s new commemorative information board at 1pm, said: “A lot of hard work has gone in by the committee and the community generally to make it a success.”
