Drivers urged to switch off their engines

LOTHIAN motorists are being encouraged to help the environment by reducing their vehicle emissions.

The Vehicle Emissions Partnership, a partnership between West Lothian, East Lothian, Midlothian and Falkirk councils, is continuing its campaign to tackle the issue of vehicle emissions. The campaign is aimed at encouraging drivers to switch off their vehicle’s engine whenever possible, reducing unnecessary emissions and in turn improving the environment.

The partnership is also reminding pupils and parents to stay safe while travelling to and from school, and whenever possible to consider alternatives to using the car, including car sharing.
