Drug dealer to lose home

A DRUG dealer will be evicted from his home after being jailed for selling heroin in ­Musselburgh.

The notice against John Paul Johnstone, 35, who was sentenced to ten months for selling drugs, was served amid reports of antisocial behaviour in and around his Bush Street home.

Mr Johnstone’s antics were said to have caused a ­considerable degree of distress to his neighbours.

He also ran up rent arrears in excess of £1600 and the council was awarded this and the expenses of the legal action. The eviction order was sought by East Lothian Council.

Council leader Willie Innes, said: “The council takes a strong line against drug dealing in local communities and following Mr Johnstone’s conviction we took action to terminate his tenancy agreement.”
