East Lothian police make fresh appeal after fatal road crash

Police in East Lothian have renewed their appeal for information following a fatal road crash In East Lothian on Thursday.

At around 12:45pm on Thursday 4 June, a 47-year-old man died following the collision between his silver Audi A4 and a black Ford Fiesta on the A198 near Dirleton in East Lothian.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Ford Fiesta was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Sergeant Jennifer Forbes of Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit said: "Our enquiries in to the crash are still continuing. We have had a decent response to our earlier appeal but we are still keen to speak to anyone who was in the area, between 12:30pm and 12:50pm, who may have dash-cam footage, to get in touch.

“We appealing in particular to a woman driving a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle who stopped at the scene to come forward. Her information may be very helpful to our investigation.

"Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1444 of 4 June."
