Edinburgh Evening News readers #ChooseCats over Royal Wedding

The Edinburgh Evening News posted a number of stories about a certain wedding in Windsor at the weekend.

A choose cats campaign has taken off on the EEN Facebook page

However, in a Facebook post sharing today’s column from Hayley Matthews criticising the handling of the homelessness around the Royal Wedding, one reader, having clearly heard too much from news organisations about the event, responded with a campaign of her own.

Writing on our Facebook page, Luna Sarah Mark wrote: “Dear EEN FB editor,

“There is no harm in having an obsession. Except yours is with something a bit pointless, and not really linked to Edinburgh.

“My lovely cat lives in Edinburgh. Please feel free to alter the focus of your obsession and choose cats instead.

“All the best, A reader.”

The comment was liked by many others on the page with Adam Rosa simply writing: “Seconded”

Laura Carruthers also joined in posting a picture of her cat writing: “I’m supporting your cause #choosecats”
