Edinburgh fire: Mound closed after fire services called to a blaze at Wash Bar

The Scottish Fire and rescue services were called to the scene in the city centre on Saturday morning at 10.37am after a fire on the ground floor of the pub.
Four vehicles attended including fire engines from Tollcross, McDonald Road, Marionville and a high reach appliance.

Hide AdThere were no casualties, it has been confirmed. The cause of the fire is not known.
The road reopened shortly after 1pm.
A witness said: "I was driving through the city and I thought traffic was way heavier than usual but it wasn’t until I turned onto the Mound that I saw the road closed sign and lots of emergency service vehicles.
"There were a few fire engines and a police cars too. It was difficult to see what was actually happening but it looked like it could be bad.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire service was called to reports at North Bank Street this morning at a commercial premises on North Bank
Street. The fire was extinguished successfully.”
The extent of the damage to the premises is unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.10am on Saturday, 8 October, police were called to a report of a fire in North Bank Street. Officers attended to assist with traffic management."
