And not only has it wooed visitors from across the UK, but it has also been named 11th in the European list.

The five-star serviced apartments – starting at £150 for one night – have won multiple accolades in recent times, including a Scottish Hotel of the Year award.

Graham Wood, owner of the Georgian townhouse, said: “We are really delighted to be recognised by our guests in the TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2016.

“This is a fantastic achievement and recognises our team’s efforts in ensuring each guest has an enjoyable and luxurious stay.

James Kay, TripAdvisor spokesman, said: “Demand for rooms at the winning Scottish hotels is likely to rise, so travellers should book early on TripAdvisor to see for themselves why travellers have raved so much about these properties.”

Tourism chiefs at Visit Scotland said the Chester Residence’s most recent success was well deserved.

A spokesman said: “This is wonderful news for The Chester Residence.

“It seems apt that in this year of innovation, architecture and design that one of Scotland’s most luxury hotels in our capital city should once again feature so prominently in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice
awards.
