Edinburgh man scoops £50,000 on £1 bet - and hasn't claimed it

A PUNTER from the Capital has won £50,000 by correctly predicting the results of all ten English Premier League football matches at the weekend '“ but may not even know about it.

The man placed a £1 bet with online bookmaker 888sport and won at odds of 50,000/1.

The company has been trying to contact him, but the punter has failed to respond to emails or phone messages and has not logged on again since the win.

888sport spokesman Harry Pile said: “Perhaps he’s still out drinking or maybe he forgot he placed the bet.

“This is right up there with the biggest wins. You won’t find many people getting it right at 50,000/1. I bet he wishes he’d put on a fiver.”
