Edinburgh rail disruption after person is hit by train

There are cancellations to services between Edinburgh and Helensburgh Central via Airdrie after a person was hit by a train on Tuesday afternoon.

ScotRail said the person was hit by a train between Blackridge and Caldercruix – and all lines are closed at the moment.

"Train services between Edinburgh and Helensburgh Central via Airdrie will be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Bathgate," said ScotRail via its Twitter account.

"We're working closely with the emergency services at the moment and I'll update you all as soon as I can."
