Edinburgh restaurant Radicibus to close after almost a decade
An Edinburgh restaurant has announced it is going to be closing its doors after almost a decade of serving customers in the Capital.
Radicibus, an Italian eatery based on Deanhaugh street, has confirmed it’s final service will take place on Saturday, August 29, bringing an end to the restaurants nearly 10-year-long run.
Owners Giovanni and Mara said their decision to close was a tough one following “much thought and consideration”.
In a message to their customers on Facebook, the pair reflected on the restaurant’s journey describing the past 10 years as being filled with “challenges, achievements, laughter, hard work, and unforgettable memories”.
They said they felt “the time has come to bring this chapter to an end” after almost a decade in business.
The owners also paid tribute to the customers who have supported the restaurant since it opened, saying many had become good friends over the years. They thanked everyone who has visited the restaurant, celebrated special occasions, recommended it to friends, or simply stopped by for a meal.
The statement said: “You have all been part of the Radicibus story.”
One customer in the comments was disappointed at this news, she wrote: “Oh we are so sad to read this, we love coming to dine with you guys and appreciate all of the hard work and love that you put into each creative meal. You’ll be missed.”
The restaurant has also reassured customers that those who still have vouchers to use in the restaurant will continue to be honoured until the business closes at the end of August.
Giovanni and Mara are encouraging customers to visit Radicibus one final time and make the most of its remaining weeks.
They added: “Whether you have been with us from the beginning or have yet to visit us for the first time, we would love to welcome you through our doors before we say goodbye”.
The owners ended their message by thanking the Edinburgh community for its support throughout the restaurant’s time in the city.
They said: “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this wonderful adventure.”
Radicibus will continue to operate as normal at 2 Deanhaugh Street until its final service on August 29.
