Edinburgh shops: Japanese clothing chain UNIQLO announces opening date for first Scottish store

A major Japanese clothing chain has announced the opening date for its new Edinburgh store.
UNIQLO will open the doors to a shop on Princes Street on April 25, marking the brand’s first furore into the Scottish market. The two-floor premises spans around 1,430 square meters.

Hide AdCustomers will have a choice of men’s, women’s and children’s wear as well as the chain’s signature products, including linen, water resistant and windproof items.
The firm’s COO Alessandro Dudech said: “At UNIQLO, we are deeply committed to supporting and enriching the communities where we operate. The opening of our new store in Edinburgh represents an exciting opportunity to forge lasting connections with local residents, businesses and organisations.
“Edinburgh is a city of great cultural and historical heritage, and we are excited to partner with a few of the many people who help to make the city so vibrant.

Hide AdTo mark the opening, UNIQLO has launched a campaign with seven Edinburgh locals to show off the city’s unique style and how it chimes with the firm’s LifeWear philosophy.
Balerno-raised singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt is involved, along with music journalist Aisha Fatunmbi-Randall, Lannan Bakery owner Darcie Maher, whisky guru TJ Littlejohn, artist Arran Rahimian, Local Heroes creative director Dr Stacey Hunter and Chippendale International School of Furniture principal Tom Fraser.
On the day the shop opens, the first 100 customers will receive a goody bag and have the chance to win a trip to Tokyo by scanning the UNIQLO app with a purchase.
