Edinburgh trams delayed after medical incident at St Andrews Square

Trams in Edinburgh are facing delays, following an incident in the city centre.

Edinburgh Trams apologised to customers for the delays, which were caused by an earlier medical incident in St Andrews Square.

It is not known how serious the incident was or whether anyone was taken to hospital.

Services are now running again, however, they are expected to be later than usual.

On Twitter, the tram operator wrote: “Due to an earlier incident in the city centre trams are currently experiencing a slight delay in service. We apologise for the inconvenience.”

They also responded to a customer who asked about late services on Princes Street, writing: “Hi, there was an medical incident at St Andrew Square. Trams have now started running again and the next one at Princes Street should be with you shortly. Sorry for the delay in service.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
