Edinburgh weather: Yellow warning for snow on Tuesday
A statement on its website reads: “Rain will turn to snow in places later on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. This could bring accumulations of 4 to 8 cm across some hilly areas of northern England and Scotland, largely above 200-300 m, with as much as 15 cm possible above 300-400 m.”
The yellow warning covers much of Scotland and northern England.

Hide AdYesterday saw snow close the A939 between Aberdeenshire and Moray - traditionally the first road of the winter to be shut.
The snow gates cordoning off a ten-mile stretch between Cock Bridge and Tomintoul were shut around noon, the Traffic Scotland information service reported.
Temperatures were expected to fall to -6C in some remote Highland glens, -5C at Braemar in Aberdeenshire and -3C in Glasgow and Dumfries.
