Ex-student’s ‘Oscar’ hope

A FORMER engineering student at Oatridge College has been shortlisted for a top award.

Scott Simpson who is the current Lantra Scotland Landbased Learner of the Year, is a finalist in the Scottish Qualifications Authority Star Awards, widely seen as the education and training “Oscars”.

The 22-year-old is the sixth Oatridge student in seven years to scoop the top award from Lantra, the sector skills council for the land-based and aqua-culture industries.
