Exhibits with extra sparkle

SPECIALLY designed jewellery is to feature in a new exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland.

Jewellers from Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and Scotland were asked to create pieces inspired by a place they love, as well as draw inspiration from each other’s work. The results will go on display at the Chambers Street attraction from May 18.

The project was run by jeweller Beth Legg, as part of a doctorate research project at Edinburgh College of Art. She said: “These jewellery artists are storytellers of personal narratives of place and this project is a celebration of our cultural links through our lived experience of our environment.”
