Extravaganza for Playhouse marketing manager raises £4700
Sarah Heney, who was forced to give up her job of 23 years last year after she was diagnosed with lupus, was one of around 200 people in attendance at the Summerhall complex for Saturday’s event, called The Butterfly and the Wolf.
They were treated to performances from seven singers – including students from Edinburgh’s MGA Academy and West End and Scottish Opera stars – backed by the 12-piece band, The Wolf Pack.

Hide AdA target of raising £2000 for charity Lupus UK was smashed after the event made £4691, and the figure is expected to rise further after an audience member donated a pair of top-price tickets for Saturday’s sold-out rugby match between Scotland and Wales at Murrayfield for auction.
Sarah, 49, said: “It was very emotional but a huge success. It was a stunning concert with everything from Scottish music to jazz, musicals and pop.
“There was a magical surprise when my step-daughter walked on the stage and sang True Colours to me. It was amazing. There was such a loving atmosphere.”
After the main event, Sarah took to the stage herself and performed a duet.
