Ferry Road crash: Edinburgh traffic chaos as car and motorbike collide

A motorcyclist has been injured in a collision with a car on Ferry Road.

The male biker was given first aid at the scene of the smash in Leith before he was tended to by the crew of an ambulance.

The Scottish Ambulance Service, Police Scotland and fire fighters were called to the scene near to the Morrisons supermarket shortly after 3.15pm today.

Police Scotland said officers had halted traffic, leading to lengthy queues.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed officers were in attendance, adding that further details may be released later.

Edinburgh Travel News tweeted: “Ferry Road – partially blocked between Pilton Drive and Granton Road due to an RTC. Traffic already slow in both directions.”
