Vance, who last November became the second signing to Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records was born in Bangor County Down, and developed his music by travelling around America in his youth.

Vance’s breakthrough came with his critically acclaimed second album, 2013’s Joy Of Nothing, which features vocals from Ed Sheeran on the closing track Guiding Light. Vance co-wrote Tenerife Sea and Afire Love from Sheeran’s 2014 multi-platinum album X, and also wrote Make It Rain, the Sheeran-performed series closer to FX’s hit drama Sons of Anarchy.

Last year Vance co-wrote and provided the vocals on Rudimental’s hit single Never Let You Go, performing the song live with the band on Later... With Jools Holland. Elton fans will get a chance to hear why Vance is such a popular artist amongst his peers, as he opens these special shows performing songs from his upcoming new album, due this Spring.

On supporting Elton at the Edinburgh venue, Vance said: “I’m embarrassed to admit it but the first time I heard Elton play live was when I toured with him in Australia at the end of last year. To cut a long story short, I’m looking forward to getting out on tour with him again this summer, not just for the honour of supporting a living legend but to experience his performances night after night.”

This run of UK summer dates will coincide with the release of Elton’s brand new album ‘Wonderful Crazy Night’, released on the 5th February 2016.

An unmistakable name in the history of popular music, Elton John has done it all – and then some. From being awarded multiple Grammys and BRITs, and even an Oscar and a Tony Award, Elton has proven his universal acclaim. In addition to selling more than 250 million records worldwide, through his partnership with lyricist Tim Rice Elton wrote the music for the feature film and Broadway stage production of ‘The Lion King”.

Having performed at several of the world’s most recognisable venues – including a pair of residencies at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Elton John continues to be one of this country’s biggest pop-culture exports.
