Fringe stars hit the bar

A HOST of Fringe stars will be taking to the stage at a city centre pub on Sunday to raise money for HIV charity Waverley Care.

The New Town Bar in Dublin Street has already had acts like Michelle McManus, London Gay Men’s Chorus, Drags Aloud and Benny Boot performing at its special “FUNdraisers”.

The final event on Sunday will feature Bob Downe and Scott Agnew, CRAFT Theatre Co, Jon Wayne Connolly and Jo Caulfield.

Customers pay an extra 50p on their drinks to give to Waverley Care.

Organiser Stephen Martin said: “We are now in our fifth year. We have had lots of acts over the years perform on our bijou stage.

“It has been a massive success and we have raised thousands of pounds for Waverley Care.”
