Funeral for tragic bike crash victim Audrey announced

the funeral of Audrey Fyfe, who died after being knocked off her bike in Portobello on August 9, will be held on Monday.

Mrs Fyfe was a lifelong cycling enthusiast and met her husband Ian through the Cycling Club. Her family have said that all her cycling friends are welcome to ride to the memorial service and wear their cycling kit to celebrate her love for the sport.

A simple committal for family and closest friends will be held at Seafield Crematorium at 9am.

A service to celebrate her life will then be held at St Philips Church, Joppa at 11am, where a retiral collection for Spokes Lothian Cycle Campaign will be made.

Mrs Fyfe died on August 11 after doctors at the Western General had tried for two days to stem the bleeding in her brain.

The 75-year-old, who rode 100 miles a week with a local club, was riding back to her home in Joppa after visiting her daughter Linda and her grandchildren in Restalrig when the incident occurred.
