General Election 2017: Edinburgh results in full

The SNP’s Tommy Sheppard had been re-elected in the Edinburgh East seat. Mr Sheppard took the seat with a majority of 3425, taking 18,509 votes. Labour’s Patsy King came in second with 15,084, while Conservative Katie Mackie came in third with 8081.

Edinburgh West

Christine Jardine of the Liberal Democrats has taken the Edinburgh West seat from the SNP. Beating SNP candidate Toni Giugliano by 18,108 votes to 15,120,

Edinburgh South

Ian Murray has held Edinburgh South. The MP was elected with 26,269 votes, a majority of 15,541 over the SNP’s Jim Eadie. There was a turnout of 74% in the seat with the Conservatives gaining 9,428 votes.

Edinburgh South-West

Joanna Cherry has held Edinburgh South-West with a majority of just over 1000. Joanna Cherry was elected with 17,575, just over 35% of the vote. The Conservatives obtained 16,478 votes with Labour obtaining 13,213.

Edinburgh North and Leith

It’s an SNP hold for Edinburgh North and Leith after Deidre Brock was re-elected. Ms Brock came in with 19,243 votes, beating Labour’s Gordon who took 16,618 votes, while the Conservatives’ Iain McGill came in third with 15,385.

Labour has gained Midlothian from the SNP with a majority of 885 votes. Danielle Rowley came out on top with 16,458 votes (36.4 per cent), beating the SNP’s Owen Thompson into second with place with 15,573 votes (34.4 per cent). With an overall turnout of 66.3 per cent.

East Lothian

Labour have gained East Lothian from the SNP. Martin Whitfield has been elected with 20,158 votes with a majority of 3,083. The seat enjoyed an overall turnout of 70.6 per cent, with Labour earning a majority of 3083 votes.

Livingston

Hannah Bardell was re-elected to Livingston with 21,036 votes. Second place in the seat was taken by Labour’s Rhea Wolfson with 17,158, while Tory candidate Damian Timson came in third with 12,799.

Linlithgow and Falkirk East

In Linlithgow and Falkirk East the SNP’s Martyn Day came out on top. Labour’s Joan Coombes took 17,469, while the Conservatives’ Charles Kennedy came third with 16,311. Lib Dem Sally Pattle came fourth with 1926.

Returning Officer Andrew Kerr thanked those that were at the count and announced the turnout figures. He said: “It is with thanks to the hard work of the Council’s election team and staff across the Council, who have worked extremely hard to deliver this election within a short timescale. I would also like to thank Police Scotland, the candidates and their agents and the media for working closely with us to conduct proceedings properly and efficiently.

Turnout: 71%
