Generation games at exhibition

TOYS are going back to the future at a nostalgic display in East Lothian with Rubik’s Cubes, football stickers and Action Man all showcased.

The “Toy Stories” exhibition, at the John Gray Centre in Haddington, explores some of the most popular games and playthings of the 20th Century.

Visitors are invited to glance back into their childhoods by playing the new or traditional games on display.

A spokesman said: “Did you collect football stickers? Do you have an Action Man or a Barbie Doll? They are all here – see if you can spot your favourite.”

The family-friendly exhibition runs until Sunday, December 2. Other events taking place at the centre include a sketching session this Sunday in which visitors can try their hand at the various ways people have drawn over the years – from slates to modern iPads – from 1pm to 3pm.

A string of old-fashioned street games will also be available to try as an exhibition on October 28 from 1pm to 3.30pm.

John Gray Centre Museum is fully accessible on the first floor of the John Gray Centre, 15 Lodge Street, Haddington.
