Gordon Aikman: MND campaigner wins Scottish Charity Award
Mr Aikman, 31, has Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and has dedicated his life to raising funds for research into the condition.
Earlier this week he revealed that he had smashed his original £500,000 target.

Hide AdHe shared the award with fellow MND patient, 21-year-old Lucy Lintott from Moray.
Mr Aikman, from Meadowbank, said: “I could not have done this alone. I am immensely grateful to everybody who has got behind my campaign, including all of Scotland’s party leaders who have united on this issue.
“Our next challenge is to ensure pre-election promises are kept, starting with the creation of three research PhDs into MND. The sooner they start, the sooner we can find a cure and start saving lives.”
