Green drive takes to the road in city

Families, firms and communities across Edinburgh are being encouraged to ‘go greener together’ in a bid to help make Scotland a cleaner, more eco-friendly place to live.

A new roadshow will visit Our Dynamic Earth tomorrow and Royal Botanic Gardens on Monday and Tuesday offering free expert advice and top tips on how people can work together to keep Scotland clean and green.

The campaign demonstrates how the efforts of individuals – such as turning down thermostats – can make a big difference, and encourages people to recognise the benefits of greener living.

Environment secretary Richard Lochhead said: “Going greener brings big benefits to Edinburgh and Scotland as a whole. Turning our thermostats down by just one degree, for example, not only saves money but also reduces the amount of energy we use.”
