Haddington body identified as Andrew Gillies

POLICE have confirmed the identity of a man found dead near the sewage works in Haddington on Monday.

He was local man Andrew Gillies, known as Andy, who was last seen in the Riverside area on Saturday April 16.

A member of the public found the 33-year-old’s body and contacted police who launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

Enquiries are continuing but there appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding this.

Anyone who may have seen Andy between 11.30am on Saturday and 6am on Monday, and can help police establish his movements during this time, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
