Health centre work to start

WORK is to begin on the business case for a new health centre in the Capital, after it won formal approval from NHS Lothian.

The NHS Lothian Capital Investment Group has backed plans to build the new £3.5 million Firrhill Partnership Centre, which had been put on ice because of funding changes.

Council officials will now begin to outline a business case for the centre, including a community consultation.

Colinton/Fairmilehead councillor Jason Rust said: “I am pleased that there is at last some progress.”
