Hedgehog sightings fall

Hedgehog sightings across the Lothians have declined by a fifth in the last four years.

The animal is listed on the UK Biodiversity Action Plan as a priority species due to the declining numbers.

In an attempt to combat the limited data on the animal, The Wildlife Information Centre is asking residents to send in details of hedgehog sightings.

As a result of the survey, it hopes to develop a better idea of the numbers in the Lothians.
