Hospitals get up to speed
TWO pioneering pieces of equipment are to be brought into use at hospitals in the Lothians.
St John’s Hospital in Livingston will receive a new CT scanner, which produces more detailed scans, including 3D reconstructions, and reduces the radiation dose for patients.
The Western General is to get a new bi-plane interventional neuroradiology suite which will provide more sophisticated treatments for patients with neurovascular disease.
