Hunt for masked raiders who stole laptop

Police are hunting two raiders who held up a West Lothian shop and injured the shopkeeper before making off with a laptop.

The men walked into Armadale Mini Market in St Helen’s Place at around 6.05am yesterday and pulled out a knife.

They demanded money and hit the shopkeeper on the hand. Despite this, he managed to raise the alarm and both the robbers ran out.

One of them grabbed a laptop on their way out of the Armadale store.

Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries and want to speak to any witnesses.

One was white, slim to medium build and was wearing a dark jacket, dark scarf and black gloves. The other man was also white, medium to large build and was wearing a light coloured jacket and black trousers.

Detective Sergeant Grant Paterson said: “Fortunately the shopkeeper was not badly injured as a result of this robbery, but it has been a terrible experience for him nonetheless.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have been in or around the shop yesterday morning and who may have seen the men either before or immediately after the incident to contact us.”
