Hyslop slams cuts at BBC

Staff cuts at the BBC in the run-up to the landmark referendum on independence are a “national disgrace”, according to the Culture Secretary.

Politicians are right to be concerned about plans to cut 35 jobs, 17 of which are in current affairs, Fiona Hyslop told MSPs at the Parliament yesterday. She responded to Edinburgh Southern SNP MSP Jim Eadie, who said there was a “mood of despondency” among staff.
