Innovators urged to battle for £30,000 business boost

BUDDING innovators are invited to submit ideas for the Bright Business Idea competition boasting a £30,000 prize to kick-start the concept.

Run by New Start Scotland, the contest is seeking to uncover the country’s “next top entrepreneur” with entrants vying for the main prize through a series of Dragons’ Den-style heats.

The competition is open to anyone with a great business idea and whose firm is less than two years old.

Organiser Ceri Rogers said: “With unemployment rates continuing to top 200,000 in Scotland, many people feel that launching their own business is the only opportunity open to them.

“It is crucial they receive the right level of support – that’s why this year’s New Start Scotland is offering the complete business package to help one lucky entrepreneur turn their business idea into strong business proposition.”

The nerve-wracking contest will be held at the SECC in Glasgow on November 18 and 19.
