Instant book service gets under way

A NEW eBook service has been launched for West Lothian residents who have access to eReaders, iPads, iPhones, and Android devices.

Electronic books can now be downloaded free for the usual loan period, 24 hours a day, seven days a week from the eBook library. The eBooks simply expire when the loan period is over.

The service was launched by Cathy Muldoon, depute leader of West Lothian Council, at Bathgate Partnership Centre.

She said: “I’m sure that this new service will be warmly welcomed by the growing number of people who are now using e-readers and mobile technology. The service will be of interest to people who have visual impairments as e-readers enable the size of the print and the contrast to be changed. This is a great example of how technology can improve our service to customers.”
