It’ll be picnic for pupils to scoop prize

MICHELIN-starred chef Tom Kitchin has launched a project that will see city schools grow their own food.

Schools taking part are being asked to design their own sustainable picnic recipe for the One Planet Picnic competition.

Prizes include a chance to visit The Kitchin restaurant in the Capital for a behind-the-scenes look at how it operates.

Tom said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be supporting this exciting project. As a father myself, I realise the importance of inspiring a new generation of cooks and ambassadors for Scotland’s natural larder.

“I hope that, through One Planet Picnic, we can help young people to understand where their food comes from and encourage them to try cooking locally-sourced ingredients themselves from a young age.”
