Hide AdMcNamara didn’t pay his rail fare of £86 for a rail journey between Edinburgh and York on April 11.
Since he took over at York, McNamara has spent time between both York and Edinburgh with his family residing in the Capital.
The manager was summonsed to appear before York magistrates after giving an Edinburgh address,
He pleaded guilty to travelling on a railway between Edinburgh and York without obtaining a ticket and was fined £250.
He was also ordered to pay the £130 prosecution costs and a £30 surcharge.
