Jobs scheme to celebrate town’s 50th
They are creating a new scheme aimed at those looking to return to work or secure employment for the first time.
Titled West Lothian’s Big 50, the scheme has been created to provide a legacy to Livingston’s 50th anniversary by providing 50 West Lothian residents with employment in and around the shopping centre.
The initiative will include a two-week training scheme run by West Lothian College and The Centre, during which successful applicants will be given the chance to enhance CV- writing skills and interview techniques.
Those taking part will also be able to gain industry accredited awards, such as the REHIS Elementary Health and Safety certificate.
Following the training fortnight, candidates will be matched with a suitable employer and placed in either full or part-time positions within the retail and hospitality sectors.
