Killer charged over phone
Marmion bar killer James Bain has been charged with possessing a mobile phone at Saughton Prison.
Bain, 28, was jailed for life in 2006 for gunning down ex-boxer Alexander McKinnon in the pub and will serve at least 22 years before being eligible for parole.
At Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday, Bain pleaded not guilty to being in possession of the mobile and a charging cable on September 5. Trial was fixed for February next year.
