Letters: Edinburgh has its own Highway Code

Always good to visit Edinburgh, to catch up on changes to the Highway Code.

Today I learned that overtaking on the inside on Queensferry Road is compulsory and roundabouts should be approached as fast as possible, with no signal of intention.

Overtaking on the inside or outside on roundabouts is also acceptable, and cutting across other traffic to exit regardless of any likely consequence is permissible.

Distance between moving cars should be no more than a yard and at any traffic light or obstruction, a staggered single line queue, to block as much road as possible, should be formed.

Range Rovers driven by small ladies have right of way at all times and parking regulations for these vehicles do not apply.

Any queue at a red traffic light turning green should leave slowly, one at a time, with no more than four vehicles getting through before red prevails again.

When turning right, do not signal.

So nice to be back again!
