Loretto pipers meet film star

MEMBERS of the Loretto School Pipe Band have enjoyed meeting the man behind the smash-hit film War Horse.

The band kicked off the Lennoxlove Book Festival on Friday, and while they didn’t get to meet JK Rowling, they were able to chat with author, poet, playwright and Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo OBE.

Lorettor director of external affairs Jonathan Hewat said: “Michael Morpurgo braved the chilly November air and watched the performance with eager interest.”
