M8 accident sparks delays

“SUBSTANTIAL tailbacks” were caused during this morning’s rush hour on the M8 between Livingston and the Capital after a car left the motorway and careered into a field.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 5:30am.

Two of the car’s occupants freed themselves from the vehicle, but another male had to be cut free by the fire service.

He was conscious as he was taken by ambulance to the ERI.
