Man found dead after Linlithgow house fire

A MAN was found dead in an armchair in a blazing flat.

Fire crews were called to the ground-floor property in Avontoun Crescent, Linlithgow, yesterday morning. An ambulance attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Early today, a 35-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy were taken to hospital suffering the effects of smoke after a fire at a house in Niddrie Marischal Place.
