Man hit by motorbike

A MAN was taken to hospital after being knocked down by a motorbike in the city centre.

The 55-year-old was struck at the junction of Hanover Street and Princes Street shortly after 2.15pm yesterday.

Emergency services attended and the man was transferred to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

His injuries were not thought to be serious and it was confirmed he was conscious and breathing upon leaving the scene.
